With the generous support of the Capitol Hill Community Foundation, ASAS students at Stuart-Hobson Middle School will research, produce, and edit a documentary on the rich history and vibrant culture of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The project is student-led with our AmeriCorps member and accomplished filmmaker, Zuri McCurty, overseeing the project and providing instruction. Students will conduct research on the history of the neighborhood, interview community members and Stuart-Hobson staff members, and produce and edit the documentary. The project culminates in a formal screening of the documentary with parents, school staff and members of the community invited to attend. Stay tuned for project updates and spring 2026 event screening details.
