Happy Earth Day! ASAS celebrated Earth Day by revitalizing the 9/11 Memorial Garden at Leckie Education Campus. The Memorial Garden was Create by Military Lodge 29 in honor of Lieutenant Jhonnie Doctor who lost his life at the Pentagon on 9/11. The garden is dedicated to Leckie student Bernard Brown and teacher Hilda Taylor who lost their lives on Flight 77. The Youth Advisory Board and Military Lodge 29 worked together to clean up and replant the garden. Our special guest, Dr Oye Owolewa, the DC Shadow Congressman, shared his insights on the importance of community activism.
