CEO & Founder

Dr. Misha Malyshev is the CEO and founder of Teza Technologies, a Chicago-based science and technology-driven global quantitative trading business. Malyshev founded the company in 2009 after several years of experience in the industry.

Malyshev joined the After-School All-Stars board of directors in 2014 as he and Teza have forged a successful partnership helping our next generation pursue educational goals.

Misha Malyshev holds an M.S. degree in Theoretical Physics and B.S. degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. After coming to the United States, he earned a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Princeton University in 1998.

Malyshev and Teza have been active in promoting the careers in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). In 2013 and 2014, they supported STEM CampUs by hosting 40 students and exploring the field, while working to transition urban 8th graders into graduation form with Teza providing academic workshops, leadership training and mentoring.

Teza has also worked with the ASAS Program Directors to create an understanding of best practices while sharing successes in program operations, stakeholder engagement and program initiatives. Misha Malyshev said, “Teza is elated to continue our support for After-School All-Stars and its life-changing work for youth across the country. The program we are sponsoring underscores our commitment to education and will be a valuable training initiative for key Program Directors.”

Teza has also worked to promote the importance of education with other organizations. Misha Malyshev serves on the global leadership council of buildOn, and also serves on the advisory board of After School Matters. Additionally, Misha Malyshev and Teza support the Adler Planetarium; particularly by encouraging women and minorities to pursue careers in STEM.

After joining the ASAS board in 2014, Malyshev said:

“I am honored to join the board of directors and I look forward to continuing my work with the staff and students that make After-School All-Stars such a special organization,” said Misha Malyshev. “I know first-hand how important it is for young people to have a strong educational foundation upon which they can build successful lives and I have seen how ASAS helps make that happen.”

In March 2015, Malyshev presented a check for $300,000 to ASAS Founder Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of the continuing commitment to after-school programs by Malyshev and Teza Technologies.
