Mandy Nelson is the Chief Development Officer for After School All Stars, a national leader in the effort to bring transformative and enriching educational opportunities to low income kids. As the Chief Development Officer, Mandy ensures the financial health of the organization by partnering with generous supporters and creating innovative ways to invest in impactful programs.
Mandy has been a fundraising leader for more than 20 years. Before joining After School All Stars Mandy was the Associate Vice President of Development for the American Red Cross. There she managed a team of 75 fundraisers responsible for raising $70 million annually. In her career as a development professional Mandy has worked with philanthropists to secure nearly $2 billion in donations for programs that change the world.
A passionate believer in education, Mandy has volunteered in and out of classrooms for years. She currently volunteers with the Culver City Education Fund, New West Charter School and Marlborough School. She also coached Little League for 10 years and served on the board of Culver City Little League. Mandy is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has been featured on panels covering topics from Women in Philanthropy to Building Effective Cause Marketing Campaigns. When she isn’t working, you will find Mandy at home with her family laughing and dancing the days away.
