Cindy joined the ASAS National team in 2016 as the Partnerships Coordinator with over 20 years of work in the after school world. Born and raised in Los Angeles she began working with youth right after high school for the Park and Recreation summer programs. During her 12 years living in San Francisco she worked with NIKE’s P.L.A.Y. Program, Head Start and the Boys and Girls Club.
Upon returning to Los Angeles she continued her work in Youth Development with LA’s BEST until joining the After-School All-Stars Los Angeles chapter in 2009 and helped launch the high school programs. Cindy’s approach to programming has always been youth-led and her proudest accomplishment to date is the C.A.R.E. Project, a student run community service club at Burton Technology Academy High School, which organizes year round service projects in its community.
Her success is not measured by her personal accomplishments, but by the success of those students that have crossed her path and who are now paving the road for other students. She could not be more excited to see how her experiences will contribute to the success of the national team!
